Wisdom Fund Asks Rep. Talent "Show Me" on KZIM
Enver Masud, President of the Arlington, Virgina based Wisdom Fund, spoke on radio station KZIM, Missouri, today 10:20 EST on the Cindy Jeter show with Rep. Talent of the U.S. Congress. Mr. Masuds main question for Mr. Talent was, "Will bombing Iraq bring peace to the Middle East?"
Masud presented the following facts and questions to Rep. Talent saying Missouri is the "Show Me" state, and suggested that the good people of America challenge president Clinton to "Show Me." Show me how bombing Iraq will bring peace to the Middle East.
- The immediate problem arose when Iraq requested changes on the inspection team charging that some of the U.S. inspectors were CIA plants. Over 90% of the needed inspections are continuing. Doesn't the U.S. trust its allies to carry out the inspections?
- Iraqs missiles are limited to 90 miles. Israel, according to the Washington based Center for Defense Information, has missiles that can reach Syria, Egypt, Iran. That is what fuels the race for weapons in the Middle East.
- Israel has over a 100 nuclear weapons, and has not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Iraq has, and has no nuclear weapons.
- CNN stated at the Columbus, Ohio town meeting that President Carter has said 100,000 civilians may die. Ms Jeter was not aware of this.
Mr. Talent responded with a long explanation that did not address the facts and arguments presented by Mr. Masud. Once when Masud interrupted, Rep Talent said Masud could respond when he finished. When Talent did finish Masud was cut off. We understand that KZIM had to take a break for a commercial.
